Big Gay Blog

The Supreme Court has ruled that same sex marriages are a matter for legislation- and so the debate rages about the extremely controversial same sex marriage bill.  From how some interest groups are interpreting the legislation- they expect that the same sex marriage bill will force all people- regardless of sexual preference into a same sex marriage.

I’ve always had trouble understanding the motivation behind those opposed to allowing gay marriage.  I’ve never quite understood the commonly used premise of how allowing gay and lesbian marriages would change what current marriages are- but I guess that’s why I’m not a proponent of scrapping that legislation and letting those queens and dykes choke on it.

As I think about it- It’s a mind set thing.  This is going to come across as harsh- but think of it as ‘tough love’.
People have a problem with gay and lesbian marriages because when they view something different from their own choices- their reaction is that they feel threatened instead of curious.  When I imagine it- I have pity for them- constantly feeling threatened by the outside world is a pretty sad way to live.  They must feel extremely petty and insignificant in their own lives in order to take something like this and make it something they feel so adamantly about that they protest and march and make as big trouble as possible about something that doesn’t even affect them.  I guess they need a pet project- maybe they should consider volunteering at the local charity. I’m sure they can find a local organization that allows them to support who they want to help: White Heterosexual European Christian Conservatives and their descendants.
